In computer industry, Apple used to be has good strategic sense in personal computer and software industry. Meanwhile in digital music players and mobile phones industries, they fully utilized its strengths and expanded its business to the entertainment industry. In year 2001, the Apple started its business from digital music players which is iPod with online music service which is iTunes and to iPhone for mobile phones industry in year 2007. The marketplace trend seems to be destroying all boundaries of each industry. This can be showed in digital music player and mobile phone industry. In the digital music player industry, there are more enhanced tool for full-motion videos and data storing can be apply in a digital music player that Apple did not have. Besides that, in now a day, the mobile phones are taking the role as a digital camera, a carry-on PC for memory storing and internet, and can be an audio device. The value chain activities are not much differences from product to product. Instead, the apple has been able to command a premium price in the market and gain above average returns from utilizing the similar and compatible of its value chain activities across the products.
