The Community Internship program helped the organization improve its response to diversity by allowing them to see exactly what goes on in poverty states and their communities. It gives them a sense of structure in understanding problems and concerns their employees face because of their race, ethnicity and cultural background. Without experiencing this crisis, UPS's management would not be able to make fair decisions concerning different situations. Management always has to look beyond the numbers and business strategies and alien themselves with real life conditions. Having a diverse organization, managers have to identify and understand different cultures in all aspects. A diverse workforce has many benefits because of different ideas, morals, and values each employee can contribute. The CIP training program has shown to be very effective and assists UPS's managers with understanding and making managerial decisions.
