Modeling Information Propagation in Social Networks
Because of the booming of the Internet and the demand of modern communication patterns, social network is paid more attention. In this project, a model will prepare for the dynamics of propagation over the social network.
We have divided the values of this research to 3 parts. For the individuals, it can help us make much more friends and understand each other better. For businesses, it can help the business lead to more profit, higher customer loyalty, strength the customer relationship and competitive differentiation. For the politics, the government can use social network to anti- terrorism. Some politicians utilize it to propagandize their own achievements in election duration.
We have objectives and domains of previous research. For instance, one report is about investigating propagation paths in Friendfeed, the other two refer to TAM of Web 2.0 services through online SNS and OSN. Also, existing models and methodologies have been studied, such as, User modeling, Hypothesis development
In the section 3 of this project, we develop our formulation and variables refer to the concept of dynamics of rumor spreading in complex networks and explain why we use the models in our research. These two models are Rumor model in homogeneous networks (include Stochastic numerical approach of 1st model) and Power-law distributed networks model. Though the models we can get the average curve of densities of ignorants, spreaders, and stiflers-- , , and and decide the best and .
n the Section 4, we talk about Methodology of modeling information propagation and introduce eight research procedures. This part contains the mathematical or logical deviations and theoretical proof of the sample size. We use FACEBOOK as an object of study and collect data of it to determine the value of densities
