Motivation for the Creation of Pakistan
Introduction:-
What I have highlighted in this is that firstly Pakistan was created for the rights of Muslim not for Islam. Division of India and creation of Pakistan was the last option with Quaid –e-Azam. If Congress and Nehru were not imposing in their stunt Jinnah would have never insisted on division of India but it was due to the hardships Muslims faced during the congress rule which denied basic human rights to Muslims that forced them to fight for a separate nation where their safeguard was guaranteed. It was events such as Nehru report which was anti Muslims and demanded thighs which were against them. Jinnah and Muslims League tried to compromise a lot but their efforts were in vain as for a peace process or unity both the parties have to meet at a common ground but Hindus were not willing to compromise at all.
Secondly although it wasn't but if Pakistan was created to become an Islamic State, even then Islam teaches welfare of the people of the state, protection of minorities, honesty and democracy.
Muslims at first didn't wanted a separate state ,in fact only a vague idea about a separate nation was present but the events occurring and incidents faced by Muslims transformed their idea into a resolution and finally in Lahore Resolution a demand for separate homeland was made.
Jinnah himself was a believer of Muslim Hindu unity till Nehru report to which he said "this is the parting of ways". Again in 2nd round table conference Gandhi being arrogant and unreasonable as always said he and congress alone represented India. These further strengthen Jinnah's views that there cannot be a single state and he said "I've received the shock of my life at R.T.C; the Hindu attitude led me to conclusion that there was no hope of unity".
It was these types of incidents which led to separation and not only Muslims but Hindus played a significant role in the separation as if there attitude were different towards Muslims and if they would have worked equally towards unity than the creation of Pakistan would have delayed if not cancelled.
Muslims demand for representation on bases of population and separate electorates were constantly being rejected by Congress and Hindus, this made them very angry. Muslims compromised and gave up a lot of their demands but to give up separate electorate wasn't possible and it was clear to all that Hindus were being very unreasonable in asking Muslims to give spate election. It was no secret that Hindus were in majority in India and if elections were held Muslims would lose by a significant margin. But this was also a fact that Muslims were a very strong minority and they had to be given importance, and this was one demand of Muslims which they never gave up.
It was clear that there was no unity or a chance of Hindu and Muslim being united in to a single state as they were two different nations which different languages, belief, customs, traditions, laws, religion and way of life, and the attitude towards each other didn't help the cause also.
