Essay title: Abortion

A common argument with abortion is that a woman who is old enough to have sex and get pregnant is old enough to care for a child. Studies show that on average a girl begins menstruating at the age of 13. The last time I checked a 13 year old child would not be the very best choice as a parent. I also don't agree with children having sex at a young age as well. A lot of people also argue that pregnancies caused by rape or incest should be carried to term; after all there is adoption. I believe that no women, child, or otherwise should have to carry a child to term if it is the product of an act of abuse or violence. In those situations a pregnancy could serve as a constant reminder of the attack if no parents could be found to adopt the child. The child is then left in an orphanage never received the love and experiencing life as a normal child. If the child is adopted then there is the chance that they may not fit in that family, therefore leaving the child moving from home to home never having a moment of peace. If the rape victim decides to keep the child, who's to say that the child would be loved as equally as a child conceived in a planned pregnancy. For all that the parent's anger could be pushed on the child because the parent may have hatred toward the attacker.
